Make Your Own Earrings

Learn how to design and create your own pair of earrings. Choose from a variety of pendants and semi-precious stones including, fresh water pearls, turquoise, granite, citrine, glass beads, crystals and more.

Registration is required, class size is limited to 15 people. Registration for Lynbrook service area begins December 30 & January 11 for non – residents. There will be a $6 per person materials fee due at registration.

Sharper Training Solutions, Inc. will teach you all you need to know about emailing!

Laptop - E-mail

Using a laptop you will learn how to create an e-mail address using some of the more popular e-mail providers. In this hands-on, lecture and demo class you will learn how to send, receive, forward and reply to e-mail. After you have mastered the basics, you will learn how to attach files and download.

Registration begins January 2, 2010 for Lynbrook Service area patrons and January 14, 2010 for non-residents.

Yarn and fabric crafters are invited to take part in Stitches from the Heart. Spend a pleasant evening knitting, crocheting, or quilting hats, lap robes, blankets, and other items for newborns, children in need and veterans in our VA hospitals. In just its first five years, this non-profit organization donated more than 418,000 handmade items to over 600 hospitals, charities, and community centers nationwide.

If you can’t knit, crochet or quilt, donations of yarn and fabric will be happily accepted.


Knitters,crochet crafters and quilters of all skill levels welcome. Bring a project with you or embark on something new. Patterns will be provided.

Students, take note! Earn Community Service Credits!

English Conversation Circle for
Speakers of Other Languages

 

Círculo de Conversación de inglés para los de habla espaňola

Sponsored by Literacy Nassau

If you have some knowledge of English, and would like to improve your conversation skills, our Conversation Circle is for you! It’s a wonderful way for speakers of other languages to become more comfortable with speaking and understanding everyday English.

A trained tutor will lead the discussions, and you will have plenty of chances to talk with others.

Now you can contact a Nassau County librarian after hours via the nternet. Just go to the Lynbrook Library website, www.nassaulibrary.org/lynbrook, and click on the "Live Librarian" logo in the lower left hand corner. You'll be connected to a real live person who will try to answer your query using the latest information databases available. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
